The 5 Stone Social and Financial Leadership

Program Objectives

The 5 Stone Social and Financial Leadership Program is implemented by the Teacher Academy Foundation in collaboration with Aflatoun International. The program aims to provide primary and secondary school students with financial literacy and social entrepreneurship knowledge and skills using active learning methods.

Teachers who apply to the project and complete the orientation training are expected to:

  • Implement the application tasks given for each educational theme in their classes
  • Attend "Mentor Meetings" for each educational theme, held for two hours on one evening, and share their experiences and their students' work with their mentors
  • Actively participate in the "Expert Meetings (webinars)" to be held for each educational theme one evening with invited subject area experts, and invite parents to these webinars.
  • During this period, monthly assignments will be sent to create lasting attitude and behavior changes in students and to support academic and life skills from both financial and social perspectives. 

In the final month of the program, a two-day online "Solution Camp" will be held, and students are expected to develop an entrepreneurial idea as a solution to a problem in their social environment, while teachers will provide support and representation to their students at this stage.

Participants included in the social learning group to be established will also be part of a professional learning community.

  • Planning and Budgeting
  • Social and Financial Entrepreneurship

Who Can Participate in the Program?

Subject and class teachers serving in 3-4-5-6 and 7th grades of state schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education can apply to the program.

Duration and Schedule

The program has started its 2022-2023 cohort on November 2, 2022 and will end in April, 2023. Monthly tasks, mentor meetings, expert seminars and solution camp activities will be carried out between November 2022 and April 2022. Certificate of Participation

Our program consists of an orientation training and a 5-month practical application period. Participants must complete the tasks assigned for each theme, attend mentor meetings once a month, and support the participation of students and parents in the expert meetings. Participants who fulfill all requirements will be awarded a digital certificate of participation by ORAV.

Learning Platform

The program will be conducted online on the Teachers Academy Foundation's e-learning platform eKampüs at www.ekampus.orav.org.tr. Mentor Meetings will be held on Microsoft Teams. The Expert Meetings will be conducted live on our YouTube channel through a special link provided to participating teachers.

Application

Applications for the program will begin in October 2023.
