STEM Applications In Nature Education

Program Objectives

Throughout human history, all discoveries and inventions have been made possible thanks to curiosity. Natural phenomena are at the forefront of these. The disappearance of the sun at night, the disappearance of the moon during the day, have drawn people's attention, and this curiosity led to the discovery that the Earth is round. Science cannot exist without curiosity. It is the human curiosity that allows the development of new concepts and theories.

STEM applications in Nature Education is an program that aims to enable students to observe and discover nature through out-of-class activities, trial and error, and thus reinforce permanent learning. The program aims to help students solve daily life problems and make designs by actively using STEM disciplines, inspired by nature through their teachers.

The following topics will be covered during the program:

  • Scientific Inquiry and Curiosity
  • Inquiry-Based Science
  • Children's Science Learning
  • Out-of-School Learning Environments
  • What is STEM?
  • 21st Century Skills
  • Engineering Design Processes
  • From Nature to Design

Additionally, the participants who will be included in the social learning group to be created will be a part of the professional learning community.
