Psychological Well-being of School Community

The concept of psychological resilience, which we will work on with this program, has a critical importance for both teachers themselves and their students as the most important skill that enables us to get back on our feet in times of difficulty despite rapid change and uncertainties.

This program aims to provide teachers with the knowledge, skills and attitudes about resilience skills that they can use in case of risk.

The way to psychological resilience, which will be strengthened by these skills and attitudes, is to keep the mind flexible and not to remain fixed while the world is changing. We will use art as a functional tool as well as words where we need to be flexible, creative and think of different alternatives.

Inspired by the intersection of the basic concepts and understandings of art movements with the concepts of psychological resilience, this program is designed with a multidisciplinary approach. At the end of each session, school staff will learn the concepts of psychological resilience by experiencing them and will experience healing first for themselves and then for their students by doing activities blended with art movements.

For our teachers, there are many tools, activities and methods that they can use in their professional and personal lives to support psychological resilience.

Participating colleagues are expected to actively and effectively participate in the sessions in order to achieve the targeted outcomes of our training.

The embedded culture of psychological resilience in a classroom and a school requires quality practice and active participation of all relevant stakeholders. We know the importance of all stakeholders in a school for demonstrating psychological resilience. Therefore, our training is school-based.

During the training program, the following topics will be covered:

  • Self-Acceptance: Self-Compassion, Self-Efficacy
  • Positive Relationship: Interpersonal Relationships, Problem Solving
  • Self-Esteem: Reflection Exercise on Self-Esteem, Decision Making, Success
  • Environmental Domination: Techniques for Coping with Stress
